• Hey if you are looking for MUI packs for any version of Windows XP (XP, XP Embedded, FLP, POSReady 2009.) which has SP 3 installed you should use en_windows_embedded_posready_2009_x86_dvd_283454.iso. The MUI packs in this image are responsible for two thirds of its size since all languages from all XP MUI CDs are included. You should prefer this image over the official ones specific to your XP version because the official images only contain MUI files for SP 0 which means that you also have to install SP 1, 2 and 3 updates afterwards. In contrast, POSReady 2009 is the only XP that comes with a MUI pack which is already updated to SP 3.
The MUI files for different XP versions are always the same, only the installer ( MUISETUP.EXE) differs. All installers work the same way but they quit if they detect that XP version or build number do not match. I found out that it is pretty easy to bypass these checks so here are the instructions for installing a MUI pack from the POSReady 2009 image on any XP SP 3: • Download en_windows_embedded_posready_2009_x86_dvd_283454.iso (search for Windows Embedded 2009 POSReady Multi or zepos2k9.iso) • Open the ISO file and go to ValueAdd MUI. • Extract the folders for the language(s) you want to install and all files of the ValueAdd MUI folder.
