I have just upgraded my CD30 to a CD30 MP3 with Aux connection for my iPod/Blackberry/Sat Nav etc. I thought it might be useful perhaps to others in the future to see what I needed to do. First off, I have a 2006 Zaf B that had a bog standard Blaupunkt CD30. I bought a Grundig CD30 MP3 with 9 buttons off ebay, taking a punt that it would have the Aux connectors on the back. As the unit off ebay was just pulled from a newer car I got the seller to send it to audioservuk on ebay for a reset = £20 I then got my Opcom hooked up and divorced my head unit (disable anti-theft in EHU). I pulled the CD30 from the dash using some double-din keys for Vauxhall head units again off ebay = £1 I had a quadlock connector which on the top rows had the usual power, speaker, canbus etc wiring, but also had two 'MOST' mini blocks at the bottom that had the four wires in for rear seat audio (so I assume I've got that cable knocking around in the back) and the rest were 'empty'. I didn't have any Aux cabling in the car so I needed to start from scratch.

I didn't want the socket down by the handbrake as I think it's an inconvenient place for an iPod or similar. I wanted a socket on the dash, so I made a hole in the centre speaker panel (which doesn't have a speaker on my model of Zaf) and fixed in a 3.5mm socket lead = £2 I then chopped off the other end of the 3.5mm socket lead and fixed on three 'pin terminals' that fit into the empty quadlock blocks.

I found them really hard to get hold of and finally got some from Nexxia (M-71-1)= £6 Nexxia also have the MOST mini-quadlock blocks for sale too if needed. You can also get 3.5mm plug leads of ebay that already have the quadlock pins on the other end, but a) they're not sockets and b) they tend to be quite expensive, but are easier if you want to do it that way. An Opcom session to enable anti-theft on the new EHU with my car's security pass and I was done. The Aux is available by pressing FM twice and sounds great.

So, in summary I needed; CD30 MP3 head unit = £35 Resetting of the EHU = £20 Removal keys = £1 3.5mm socket lead = £2 Quadlock terminals = £6 Total = £64.

This guide is simply to help all those who would engage in the adventure of installing after market, in their, replacing the car stereo as standard /30. The CDC40, as well as having some additional functions, has a better sound output even without changing the original speakers.
